How to Make a Card with Cricut Joy

• Preparing the Image:

Supplies for Cricut glass etching

You'll need the following materials to create etched drinking glasses.

• Drinking glasses
• Cricut vinyl
• Explore Air 2, Cricut Maker, or Joy
• Glass etching cream
• Paintbrush

How to Etch Glass

1. Starting in Cricut Design Space, create the name or logo you want to etch onto your glass. Next, cut the vinyl using your Cricut machine using your preferred design.

2. The vinyl must then be REVERSE WEEDED. Change the way you regularly weed! The letters must be taken out in order to make a stencil. It's weeding in the opposite direction from what we typically do.

3. Then, attach your stencil to the glass that will be etched using transfer tape. After applying it correctly, pull off the transfer tape, revealing the vinyl underneath.

4. Apply the glass etching cream over the stencil using a paintbrush. Take care not to get any on the stencil's edges. Set the timer for one minute and put on a thick coat.

5. It's time to rinse off the glass etching cream once the timer has gone off. Holding the glass under running water, thoroughly clean the glass by rinsing out all the glass etching creams.

6. Take the vinyl stencil off the glass to expose the etched pattern.

First things first, write the menu you want to serve aside from Taco and Beer and resize the files to the size you need on your board! Then, select "MAKE IT".

Review the cutting file and change the size of the material to match the cutting mats you plan to use. Click Continue in the lower right corner when it's ready to cut.

Establish your material and check that the proper blade is loaded in your machine. Put your cutting mat in the machine after applying the Iron-ON! When your machine starts flashing, press the "C" key!

Once your designs have been cut, weed the extra vinyl from the area around your design.

After everything has been weeded, cover your designs with Transfer Tape. Make sure your vinyl pattern is firmly stuck to the transfer tape using your fingers or a scraping tool. Remove the backing paper off the design when you're ready to apply it, and then place it.
