WHAT IS SVG FOR CRICUT?
This work will make you think twice if you still use Cricut with JPG and PNG format.
But first, let us see what SVG is and why Cricut needs it.
Scalable Vector Graphics, or SVG, is an excellent format for any graphics and images. In an SVG file, the quality does not decrease when it is shrunk or blown up. Why? The answer is "vector." The coordinates and directions of the image are saved. Each change in the picture is specified mathematically rather than by pixels in a vector graphic, which is made up of stacked blobs of digital color. It may sound complex but trust me, and this will give your design a perfection you've never seen before!
So the second question is, why is it necessary for Cricut to use vector graphics? With SVGs, every point on the image has that direction, making your cutting tool significantly more precise than any tracing software could with raster (pixel) images.
Without getting too complicated, an SVG file is a mathematically constructed file that works precisely with the Cricut and other cutting machines. Instead of being designed in pixels like a JPG or PNG, it is made up of lines and points.
Am I giving you a question mark above your head? Why do I keep insisting on these two and ask, "Why do I need SVG files for Cricut?"
Here are several reasons why:
Why Cricut and SVG are a perfect match?
Scalable vector graphics come in handy in different situations. They're adaptable, interactive, and simple to make with a graphics editor and some design knowledge. You'll never have to worry about blurry graphics again! If you're in the vinyl business, remember that having the highest quality designed vinyl is one of your advantages.

Some crafters have their graphic designs on
PNG, but if you keep zooming it, you'll notice its quality begins to downgrade at some point, and that's very frustrating for crafters and customers. With more complex pixel-based graphics, the degradation becomes evident much faster. However, SVGs look good at practically any resolution.
PNG and JPEG are virtually interchangeably used on many websites. SVGs, on the other hand, aren't quite as adaptable. You'll frequently wind up with enormous and unusable SVG files if you try to re-create a sophisticated photograph with vectors.
Here are some reasons why SVG is better than PNG and JPEG.
The advantages of using SVG over other image formats (like JPEG and GIF) are:
Did I convince you to use and create an SVG format? Well, the choice is now in your hand to get the best quality of your designed vinyl!
